The purpose of the study is to
evaluate an interactive CD-ROM for HIV prevention and to assess sexual behavior
and its associated HIV risk.
What’s Involved in Participating?
Participation in this study consists of three parts:
For the first part, the participant will need to complete
a basic demographic questionnaire, a sexual history questionnaire, and an HIV testing history questionnaire.
In addition, fifty percent of all participants will be randomly selected to view
an interactive CD-ROM for HIV prevention and provide feedback. This first part should take anywhere between 15-60 minutes.
For the second and third part of the study, the participant will
be asked to complete the same questionnaire they completed during the first part. The second and third parts should take anywhere between 10-15 minutes.
What Do I Get from Participating?
Participants may become more aware
of safer sex practices.
Participants may become more conscious about sexual
behaviors that may lead to a higher risk of contracting HIV.
Additionally, participants will be paid $135 for completing all 3 parts of the study.
Can I Participate?
To enroll in this study, the participant must:
Be a female between
the ages of 18 and 24.
Have basic computer
knowledge.
Be willing to answer questions about her sexual history.
Be commited to complete all 3 parts of the study.
